I'm Mike Kinyon, a native Oregonian. My love of the outdoors started with my grandma, and my mom, both being flower lovers. Soon I was in love with flowers, trees, and forests.
I started hiking when I was in Boy Scouts. Then about 10 years ago, I began volunteering with the High Cascade Forest Volunteers. That began my passion for working with crosscut saws on trails, and then learning how to sharpen them.
Since moving to Oakridge, I have volunteered with GOATS on some trail projects, and lately have wanted to make a bigger contribution to the organization. I hope as a board member of GOATS, I can help with maintaining our trails, and encouraging all trail users to make more use of our valuable trail assets.
